Spruce

Spruce trees are dependable and make a bold statement wherever they reside. They can grow very tall, stay green all year, and do their job well: blocking wind or giving you some privacy. They’ve got that classic full shape that people desire for their yards, and look great on their own or in a row of multiples.

We’ve got a few different types depending on what you’re after. The Black Hills Spruce is a slower grower, but it holds a nice shape without much fuss. The Norway Spruce grows fast and gets big; great if you’ve got space to fill. White Spruce handles a mix of conditions and holds up well in tough spots. And if you like the look of something with a bit of color, the Colorado Spruce has that blue-green tint that people really appreciate, especially in winter.

These trees can get pretty tall compared to the others, so they’re best in spots where they’ve got the room to grow. And when they’re planted, they don’t need much; just a good start.
